Bad Ideas

The opposite of inspiration.

Level Up Entertainment

Painted this depiction of Rydia from Final Fantasy IV as a commission. She is highly influenced by Amano’s original character design. Prints are available in my Etsy shop.

Also, prints of many of my gaming themed paintings (including Rydia of Myst) are now available at Level Up Entertainment in the Hamilton Mall.

Dr. Sketchy’s Asbury Park

Here are some of my more successful sketches from Asbury Park’s Dr. Sketchy’s session. The gorgeous models were Tricia Pain and Krissi Horan. The theme was Soviet Takeover. Beautiful costumes, and lots of red!

Secret Daughter of Cthulhu

Below is my hand painted depiction of Cthylla, secret daughter of Cthulhu. She has her daddy’s eyes.

Good Elephant

My most recent commission is a safari animal for a nursery. First, I painted a lion, but I think he came out too mean. My second attempt, I believe, is a success. Who wouldn’t want this friendly elephant protecting baby’s room?

What safari animal would you have painted?

Bad Lion

This watercolor lion was supposed to be a baby shower gift. The nursery is safari themed. However, I think he came out more mean than cuddly. Guess I’ll have to paint another safari animal tomorrow (one with less teeth).

Lies and Good Intentions

I got bored with the seven deadly sins thing. So yeah, that series is over now. Here are a couple hares and my condolences.

A Break from Sin

I’m interrupting the seven deadly sins project for a very sad announcement. Earlier this week, Dorothea Tanning died at the age of one hundred and one. She was a founding member of the surrealist movement. She was an influential in the art world for eight decades. I do not say this lightly, she is my favorite artist of all time. The world is a little less beautiful without her.

Thank you, Dorothea, for doing what you did.

Greed

Today’s sin is greed. Despite being perfectly happy and healthy in my apartment, I want an entire house. With a yard, and a garden, and a drawing room (pun intended), and a hot tub, and a bird feeder, and a thousand other things I certainly do not need.

Greedy.

Seven Deadly Sins

I’ve been painting a lot, but blogging little. To make it up to you, I’ll show some insight into my character. Over the next week or so I’ll post a painting for each deadly sin. The paintings will represent my personal temptations.

Today’s sin is gluttony. I could eat ice cream forever.

Gluttonous.
