Nothing makes me want to create more than experiencing live music. Performance fills me with inspiration. Below is a drawing of my good friend Sean Breslin. Last Friday, he played at Grooveground. I was there, and so were a lot of my friends and family. It was a wonderful evening. Music brings people together in a way I’m not sure visual art can. If you get a chance, check out Sean’s music. Powerful stuff.

It has been a while since I attended a Dr. Sketchy‘s Anti Art School in Philadelphia. And what an event it was today! The costumes were gorgeous at the steam punk themed Dr. Sketchy’s. Our lovely models were Lulu Lollipop and Ginger Leigh of the burlesque Peek-A-Boo Revue, with special guest posings by Count Scotchula.

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and somehow I have not managed to update my blog yet this month. I am sorry. Here is a page from my sketchbook to break my artistic silence.
Featured above is my purse, a stapler, and a calculator depicted in pen, marker, and colored pencil. Sketchbook Saturday lives!
Also, I’ve recently revamped my Etsy shop for the upcoming holiday season. For the first time I am selling prints of my plein air paintings. Take a look.

I never do.
Below is a drawing from my sketchbook made during a Hammonton Arts Center board meeting. My skecthbook and I are still inseperable. Unfortunately, Twitpic seems to see more of its contents than this blog does.

It is the first day of spring. It also happens to be Sketchbook Saturday.
Very close to my home is a big, beautiful bird reserve. No one appreciates the arrival of springtime quite as much as our feathered friends. The gestures below were drawn from live birds, which are found in abundance in my area. There is a hen, a rooster, some geese, and a large, black, duck-like bird with a bumpy beak.
Happy Spring! Happy Sketching!
