Seven Devils

The Atlantic City Ballet‘s newest show opens next Friday. Caught Up in Swing/7 Sins is breathtaking. I do not have the vocabulary to properly describe the skill of these dancers and the caliber of their choreography. The show features contemporary music like Florence and The Machine and Nine Inch Nails. Everyone in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia should be buying a ticket.

Watercolors from their rehearsals:

Ballet Rehearsal

This morning I had the privilege of painting the Atlantic City Ballet as they rehearsed. The company’s beauty absolutely stunned me. Their skill, dedication, elegance, and joy truly moved me. It is my deep hope to work with them again.

As this was a rehearsal, I worked as they danced. These sketches are fast, wet, and unrefined.

This Party Needs Some Color!

Most of my recent works posted have been black and white. Here’s an ACEO to pump up the vibrancy.

(Reminder: An ACEO is a portable piece of art whose only constraint is that it be the size of a playing card.)

And Five and Six and Seven and Eight. Ink, pen, watercolor paper, and matte board. 2.5″x3.5″ (6.4cmx8.9cm).
