The Clockwork Queen

Just because I’ve never seen a machine elf, doesn’t mean I don’t believe.

Clockwork Queen. Watercolor and ink on paper. 7″ x 5.5″.

Flights of Fantasy

I recently finished the cover illustration for Thomas J. Kenney’s newest children’s chapter book series, Flights of Fantasy.

Store Down the Shore

This watercolor painting of a Jersey shore store front won first place in the July 6th Ocean City Paint Out. Shop windows in vacation towns are always eye catching. Something about that orange dress demanded to be painted.

Down the Shore Store. Watercolor and Ink on paper. 7″ x 6″ (17.8 cm x 15.2 cm).

SOLD

Feel free to join me at next Wednesday’s Evenings Along Asbury plein air painting event.

Fox Out of Water

Here is a painting of a startled fox. The animal feels out of place, and was created with watercolors. The painting practically named itself.

Fox Out of Water. Watercolor and ink on paper. 6″ x 5″ (15.2cm x 12.7cm).

Unframed: $200.00

Home Brew

A few friends of mine home brew their own beers, wines, ciders, and mead.  I do not, but it does not stop me from occasionally tagging along while they work. This was painted while a dark coffee stout was transferred to a secondary container. It is another watercolor piece of a kitchen that is not my own.

Someone Else’s Kitchen. Watercolor and ink on paper. 7″ x 6″.

Unframed: $200.00

Color Challenge, Orange and Blue

This was my first week participating in a Color Combo Challenge. The colors were “tropical orange and blue.”  Below is a watercolor self portrait created to meet the color requirements.

Tropical Orange and Blue. Watercolor and ink on paper. 6″ x 5″.

Unframed: $200.00

On another note, this is the last week to see my works over at Casciano Coffee Bar and Sweetery in Hammonton, New Jersey. Don’t miss it!

Spring Kitchen

Spring is here! The kitchen below was painted with the colors of this fresh season in mind.

Expect some new outdoor watercolors soon, if the weather stays this nice.

During Last Night’s Snow Storm

I painted this.  The warmth of the piece is very satisfying.

Shopping in Paradise

It is hard to describe a trip to Waikiki without mentioning the shopping district. From ABC‘s to shopping malls, downtown Honolulu is covered in stores. Below is a painting of a shave ice stand tucked away in an alley by the beach.

The International Market is a bustling collection of  cart vendors, street performers, and outdoor shops. Tropical plants combined with the perpetually perfect Hawaiian weather make the whole set up beautiful. Please click to enlarge the following image as I don’t think the thumbnail does it justice.

Women’s fashion on the island can be summed by sun dresses and swim suits.

Where there is retail there are food courts. This Tiki Burger hut was charming.

This cat resides at my favorite restaurant on Oahu, Ramen Nakamura.

Orange Masks

Think of “Orange” as a noun.

This is my latest oil painting. It is fairly large and quite beautiful. The textures are not fairly conveyed by the photographs.
