Battle Bot

Nothing to see here, just me and my giant Ham-bot.

When it rains, it pours. Not only do I have two separate gallery openings this Friday night, but today my work was featured in Shop Art Direct and Glamour Shoes. Look at me go!

The Drawing of the Three

On October first, my husband and I threw a huge party celebrating our recent marriage. My sister Maria, my sister Brianna, and I got our hair done together. As the three of us are artists, we each drew a sketch while waiting for our turn in the seat. This is one of the very few blog posts that will include drawings I did not make. I am the oldest of the three. Maria is five years younger than I am. Brianna is ten years younger than Maria.

These drawings are dear to me and are not for sale.

Defiant Stare

This snowy owl was painted for Reddit’s 2nd weekly art jam. He was a particular challenge since he has mostly white feathers. His defiant stare brought out my stubborn side and I am very happy with this rendition of his likeness.

Hello November

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and somehow I have not managed to update my blog yet this month. I am sorry. Here is a page from my sketchbook to break my artistic silence.

Featured above is my purse, a stapler, and a calculator depicted in pen, marker, and colored pencil. Sketchbook Saturday lives!

Also, I’ve recently revamped my Etsy shop for the upcoming holiday season. For the first time I am selling prints of my plein air paintings. Take a look.

Time Flies

It seems like only yesterday that I told you about the Noyes Museum‘s weekly drawing club. Well, the Drawing Room is now over a month old. Starting in June we will be experimenting with persepctive and interior space. Feel free to join us on Wednesday nights. Below are select drawings from my most recent three sessions.

On a side note, a lot of people have been asking about my Facebook project. I have not given up! Spring and summer are my busy seasons. I promise to pick back up right where I left off come fall.

Bronze Owl

This Friday night is the opening reception to the Hammonton Art Center‘s Twelfth Annual Juried Show. The pieces I have in the show are “April to April”, “Martha”, and “Samara in a Drawer #2”. My sister, Maria, also has art in the show. Her piece is “Fuzzy Fox” in pastels.

The drawing below is of a sculpture included in Friday’s exhibition. Once I saw it, I had to draw it. It is a large, bronze owl sculpted by the talented David Caccia. The work is titled “Barn Owl.”
